Status of Fall 2020 season

Capitol Park Little League Players and Families:

We wanted to provide you with an update regarding the status of our 2020 Fall Baseball and Softball season.

As always, the health and safety of the players and their families is of the utmost importance to us.  Due to the current Covid-19 conditions within San Antonio, the CPLL Board of Directors voted to not hold a Fall ball season.   For those players that registered during the Spring 2020 season, your credit will be applied to the Spring 2021 season as previously communicated.  We hope to have the Spring registration details posted to our website by December 1, 2020.

We are looking forward to Spring 2021 and for the kids and their families to be able to enjoy our new ball park!

Honoring Virginia Buckelew

Capitol Park Little League is deeply saddened by the passing of Virginia Buckelew, former Assistant District Administrator of San Antonio’s District 19 Little League.  Virginia is the wife of retired Texas District 19 Administrator and Texas State Coordinator, Richard Buckelew.

The Buckelew's began their volunteer service to the Little League program in support of their children and hometown league Capitol Park.   They dedicated many hours to not only our league, but also later on at the local, district, and state levels. Richard served as Texas District 19 Administrator from 1984 until 2018, and Virginia as Assistant District 19 Administrator for each of those years.

Virginia was one of the most kind-hearted and dedicated persons that we have ever known.  She was always available to assist with any information or guidance that our little league needed at any time.  She truly cared about the players and their families.

Words cannot express our gratitude for all of the time and dedication that Virginia has offered Capitol Park.  Our thoughts and prayers are with Richard and their family.  Virginia will be dearly missed!

Spring 2020 Season has been canceled!!

We have posted a statement to our Facebook page and sent out to all our Capitol Park Families.  Please refer to your email for details.
