Capitol Park Little League is deeply saddened by the passing of Virginia Buckelew, former Assistant District Administrator of San Antonio’s District 19 Little League. Virginia is the wife of retired Texas District 19 Administrator and Texas State Coordinator, Richard Buckelew.
The Buckelew's began their volunteer service to the Little League program in support of their children and hometown league Capitol Park. They dedicated many hours to not only our league, but also later on at the local, district, and state levels. Richard served as Texas District 19 Administrator from 1984 until 2018, and Virginia as Assistant District 19 Administrator for each of those years.
Virginia was one of the most kind-hearted and dedicated persons that we have ever known. She was always available to assist with any information or guidance that our little league needed at any time. She truly cared about the players and their families.
Words cannot express our gratitude for all of the time and dedication that Virginia has offered Capitol Park. Our thoughts and prayers are with Richard and their family. Virginia will be dearly missed!
We have posted a statement to our Facebook page and sent out to all our Capitol Park Families. Please refer to your email for details.
All parents that plan on being on the field for coaching or team mom duties must fill out a new 2020 Volunteer Application.
